June 17, 2001 on 8:35 pm | In Main |Just tonight, Sean took his first few steps. For most of the weekend, we started playing a game with Sean. We would tell him to “stand up”, and he would stand up without holding on to anything. Then we tell him to “touch your toes”, and he would bend down, place both hands on the floor, then stand back up again. We would repeat this over and over again. But tonight, I stood him up about a foot and a half away from me while I was sitting on the couch. He would then take as many as 3 or four little steps before crashing into me. Tomorrow, I’m going to see if I can put him futher away and still have him walk toward me.
I worked on the yard for a few hours this morning. Finally, I think everything is looking good all at once. I trimmed the front hedges, and swept up all of the mess under the mesquite trees in the front yard. The lawn is looking very healthy in the back, and all of the plants around the pool look healthy. Some of the plants in the back are starting to show the effects of the sun and heat, but they should come back this fall.
