June 28, 2001 on 8:15 pm | In Main |At work, I’m still locked out of the change management tool. The IT service ticket is a level 3, which applies to a performance loss to an individual user. The response time for this level is supposed to be 4 hours, but the problem has gone unfixed for a day and a half. That’s still better than my old job, where in order to meet the time goals, they would close out the ticket, even if they didn’t fix the problem.
Interesting ruling today on Microsoft. The news is reporting that Microsoft won’t be broken up, but when I read the ruling, it seems to say the Judge Jackson should be disbarred for making his opinions public during the trial. But, the finding of fact that Microsoft broke the law will stand. The lower court will decide what the punishment will be handed out. Given the behavior of Microsoft, I don’t see how any Judge wouldn’t be swayed by their arrogance. Let’s see what happens.
It was a hot day today, with the high around 109. It seemed like it was humid, but when I checked the weather stats, the relative humidity was only 8% at the hottest point in the day. Of course, we had to cool off in the pool. Sean learned a new trick. I would set him down on the ledge, where his head and shoulders are out of the water. He would then dive off towards me, and then I pick him up out of the water. He doesn’t seem to show any fear of the water.
