July 21, 2001 on 10:00 pm | In Main |We made it to the zoo this morning. The phoenix zoo has a smaller number of exhibits than the world wildlife zoo we went to this spring, but they have some nice displays and a lot of play areas for children. We had a good time for the first hour or so, then it got to be too hot. They had a special today where they placed shaved ice in the exhibit areas to try to attract the animals to where they could be seen. It didn’t seem to help much. After 11:00, after being at the zoo for two and a half hours, Sean was asleep, and Cortney and I were ready to head to the air conditioned car. We plan to go back when the weather is cooler.
