July 2, 2001 on 7:46 pm | In Main | No CommentsRecord setting temperatures today. The high was 116. This is the hottest temperature since we arrived in Phoenix, and the hottest weather I have experienced. Some other weather trivia for today: by 9:00am the temperature was already 100 degrees. The average temperature was 103 degrees. Of course, we had to cool off in the pool. By 6:00, the temperature had dropped to 110 or so. The water temperature was 92 degrees, and for the first time I thought it was too warm for swimming.
No update on the computer problem at work. I downloaded a trojan scanner off the internet to see if my computer had a trojan, but the scan came up clean. I find that if I stay away from our configuration management tool, I don’t have any trouble. This tool is a fairly straightforward client server application. Both the configuration management expert and the network export are stumped. Oh well, I guess I can go a few more days without any configuration management work.
Sean is still walking, although he didn’t seem to be excited by it as he was this weekend. I’m wondering if his legs are sore from all the activity this weekend.

July 1, 2001 on 8:21 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean is pretty much walking now. He can go as much as 30 feet on his own. He looks so cute walking with his chubby little legs. I call him “franken-baby” because of the way he lurches from side to side as he walks. He has learned to drop to one knee if he loses his balance, so he is avoiding the big crashes he’s been doing for the last few days. He is slowly getting better at turning while he walks. All we need to do now is convince him to walk rather than crawl.
Today was devoted to yard and computer maintainence. A big branch in one of the mesquite trees had cracked, so I had to cut it down. I ended up thinning out both of the mesquite trees in the front yard, and ended up with a big pile of branches in front of the driveway. On the computer side, I degfragmented my hard drive and updated my firewall and anti-virus software.
