The IT department at worked confirmed that we had the nimda virus on our computer servers. This is the virus/worm that was responsible for slowing down most of the internet traffic yesterday. The virus is named after admin spelled backwards, which adequately describes how our IT department is run.

I came up with a new idea today. Instead of declaring war on the terrorists, we should declare war on all fanaticals. The Islamic fundamentalists hardly have a lock in this area. I would include people who would bomb an abortion clinic killing innocent people, or environmentalists who spike trees, injuring lumbermen. Anyone who carries a single idea or set of beliefs to the point where they would kill or injure innocent people should either be jailed or given a one way ticket to the afterlife.

While I’m on the political rant, I also would like to create a new punishment for people who hate America. As far as I can tell, the only thing Americans are guilty of is being less than perfect. Hardly a reason to justify the hate. So, for these people, I would propose they be removed from the country or prohibited from entering, and forbidden from buying any American made products or using any American services. Then, these people can hate us all they want. For people like Rep. Barbara Lee (who was the only dissenting vote for the war act) and Jerry Falwell (who said we deserved the attack), I would give them 30 days to shape up or ship ‘em out. For people uncomfortable with the wave of patriotism or dislike the American flag, they can do penance by carrying the flag while reciting the anthem in public, or else leave as well.

Enough of the political stuff. It’s starting to cool off enough that Sean can spend more time outside. The highs are still above 100, but the lows are now into the 70’s. Just in time, because Sean is very active. If he doesn’t have room to run around, he gets very fidgety.
