Everyone had spaghetti for dinner, including Sean. It was cute watching him trying to get the noodles into his mouth. He tried some noodles with the sauce on them, but he clearly preferred the plain noodles.

It was cold this morning. It was 33 degrees when I drove into work. The forecast is for cold again tomorrow morning, then to warm up by this weekend.

Here is a preview of what the new home page will look like. Most of the page is rendered with a template similar to the one used to generate this page. The text is kept in a separate .txt file, and this page is rendered automatically by radio. When I convert the other pages over, I will “go live”, and have radio render directly to the top level directory of my web site.

The weather was very raw today. Temperatures in the 40’s and rain. The forecast was predicting snow at 2000 ft elevation, which is the lowest I’ve seen since we have been in Arizona. Of course, our house is only at 1000 ft, and the hills nearby are at 1900 ft. There are three mountain ranges in Phoenix above this height, but I don’t think they got any snow today. Disappointing, but I would rather have our typical weather this time of year with sunshine and high’s in the 60’s

With the calendar feature of the web log, it really stands out when I miss a day of posting, like this past Sunday. I’m going to make more of an effort to post at least once a day.

Sean was really hyper this evening. We went to story time at the library. We even brought his milk with us, to give to him during the story reading so he would sit quietly. Even with his milk cup, he was still running around and screaming. He just wouldn’t sit still. We had to take him home early to avoid disturbing the other children. It’s a shame, because even I enjoy the video at the end of story time, which we missed.

Sean was in a good mood again tonight. Cortney has managed to teach Sean to say Uh Oh! I was a little startled when I heard him say it. He pronounced it clearly as well.

I may have ruined our cast iron frying pan. I went to boil some water for pasta for dinner. I turned the wrong burner on. Normally, I would have noticed the wrong burner from the bright red color. But the cast iron pan absorbs a lot of heat, and I didn’t notice until the oil cured into the pan was smoking. The area of the center of the pan is a little discolored, and the pan is slight warped. In addition to the damage to the pan, I had to put up with dinner fifteen minutes late. I’ll be more careful next time.

I never got around to posting yesterday. It was a busy day. I started off by going into work for four hours. After a brief nap, I watched the football games. After playing with Sean, getting the laundry done, and spending some quality time with Cortney, it was time for bed.

Whatever was bothering Sean yesterday evening was not a problem today. In fact, I was amazed at how much energy he had. He was running around the house all evening long.

Sean had a complete meltdown this evening. We all went out to eat at one of Cortney’s favorite restaurants. We were told that we had a 30 minute wait, and it ended up being an hour. It was stressful keeping him occupied for the hour, but the worse was when we finally got to our table. Sean didn’t want any of the food that we gave him, and he even didn’t want his water. He was so bad, I had to take him outside to have him wind down from his crying. We stayed for the salad, but had the main course wrapped to take home. He wasn’t any better when we got home. He enjoyed his evening milk, but other than that, he was miserable. We put him to bed early. I think the problem is either his two year molars, or maybe constipation.

I bought a new pair of hiking shoes today. The old pair was starting to wear and fall apart on the outsoles. It’s a shame we didn’t have the time to go hiking today, the weather was very nice. I might even have to wait a couple more weeks before going hiking, as we are making plans next weekend to have a get together for the superbowl.

I replaced the power supply in Cortney’s computer. I first noticed a problem when I converted that computer from my machine to Cortney’s machine. The fan in the power supply started to make a strange noise. At that time, a tap on the side of the computer case solved the problem. That machine was on continuously, so even thought it is only a year and a half old, the power supply has had a decent workout. About a week ago, the fan started to make the noise again. I was able to get the computer to limp along for the week by taking the power supply out and turning it upside down. I’m certain that one of the bearings for the fan has failed. At any rate, I replaced the power supply with a nice 300 Watt model. The old one was only 235 Watts, so the new one should run without any strain at all. It definitely runs quieter, and I’m hoping the extra power will provide more stability to the computer as well. It was an easy job to accomplish. It only took ten minutes or so to perform the replacement

We attended a birthday party for one of the kids in Sean’s playgroup. It was a beautiful day here, sunny and warm, so we spent most of the time outside. The parents of the birthday boy had a nice backyard, and Sean had fun playing outside.

I met Cortney and Sean at one of the parks we drive to after work today. Sean was excited to see me, and wanted to show me the constuction equipment at the lot next to the playground. He kept pointing at the equipment the whole time we walked over to the fence around the lot.

One of Sean’s christmas presents was a talking, singing stick pony. For some reason, he was afraid of it. I have been gradually trying to get him use to it. For awhile, he thought it was funny when I played with it, but he didn’t want to get any where near it. Tonight, for the first time, he developed enough courage to play with it.
