I may have ruined our cast iron frying pan. I went to boil some water for pasta for dinner. I turned the wrong burner on. Normally, I would have noticed the wrong burner from the bright red color. But the cast iron pan absorbs a lot of heat, and I didn’t notice until the oil cured into the pan was smoking. The area of the center of the pan is a little discolored, and the pan is slight warped. In addition to the damage to the pan, I had to put up with dinner fifteen minutes late. I’ll be more careful next time.
