I took my car for the required emissions inspection. Cars built after 1998 don’t require an emissions inspection, so I didn’t have to bring in the minivan. It’s somewhat of a crooked racquet. It became obvious that emissions testing isn’t required for new cars, yet the company that built the facility needed to recoup their investment, so the older cars still get tested. Of course, I passed the test easily.

I was nearly done with my shower this morning, and I couldn’t remember if I shampooed my hair, so I decide to make sure and shampoo again. I didn’t want to end up with greasy hair again at work like I did yesterday. My hair ended up being so dry that it was practically standing on end from all of the static electricity.

Sean seems to be doing much better after taking the antibiotics for a day. His running nose has gone away, and he is in a much better mood overall. He was very vocal tonight, trying to making many sounds.

I guess I was in a rush this morning. I wanted to take a quick shower after a decent workout on the exercise bike. I somehow forgot to shampoo my hair, and I ended up with greasy hair all day long at work. I guess you can add absent-mindedness to my known list of flaws.

Cortney took Sean to the doctor today because he was more fussy than usual. The doctor thinks he might have or has had a sinus infection. He was put on antibiotics. Even though the doctor doesn’t think he is contagious, we decided not to go to story time at the library so Sean could rest up to get better. I would say he has definitely been a good sport about this illness, as most of the time he has been cheerful.

I’m back in the posting business. Actually, I never found out what my original problem was. I saved all of my previous posts to a text file, then deleted the database file that saved my postings. In order to have the postings show up on the same days as they were before, I changed my computer date. If you look carefully, all of the previous posts were created around the same time of day. Even though I don’t know what the database problem is, I have been in email contact with Lawrence Lee at radio userland about my problem. I’m hoping he can find out what went wrong so that it doesn’t happen again.

I posted a note on the userland discussion group about my problems with posting. I’m hoping to get this resolved soon.

Cortney was asking what the calendar on the left part of the page was for, so I thought other people might want to know as well. Basically, the calendar provides access to the archives. At the time of this post, there are only 3 days of posts, so only two links are active (the current date is always inactive), the 13th and the 19th. Clicking on these links brings up the posts for that day. After I start posting in the next month, the month links below the calendar will become active as well. I added the link below the calendar, [Link not active], to access the older blogger archives.
Note: I no longer maintain a calendar. Just go to the archives page to view past posts.

Sean is getting better at eating with a spoon. He is now able to finish all but the last quarter inch of his applesauce cup. When he gets to this point, he either hands us the spoon or starts using his hand to eat the applesauce. Sean was in a good mood tonight. He was even happy during the period right before we give him his evening milk, which is ususally the worst part of his day.

I went in to work for a few hours this morning. I needed to get caught up from all of the work that I didn’t get done last week because I was sick. I was able to focus on my work, so the time breezed by. I’m going to relax this afternoon and watch football on the TV.

I think I’ve run into my first major problem with radio userland. The posts I wrote last night aren’t showing up on this page.

I’m still doing some fine tuning with the html settings on this page. Now that I have several posts, I’m trying to adjust the spacing between the posts.

Sean hit a milestone today. For the first time, he climbed the steps on the playground and went down the slide, all on his own. It was actually funny to watch him. He would sit down on the platform 3 feet away from the slide, then scoot forward until his rear end was on the top of the slide. It seemed like he was wearing himself out just moving to position himself on the slide.

Since I didn’t post to either web page yesterday, I guess I should post an update. One of Cortney’s friends dropped off their child at our house so she could attend an appointment, so we had two kids to bring to the park when I came home from work. The weather turned chilly here, so we bundled everyone in jackets to stay warm. It is definitely more challenging two watch two kids than one. Cortney and I had to pair off to make sure both kids were safe on the playground equipment. I guess this is hint of what is to come should (I mean when) we have another kid.

Another of Cortney’s friends called to ask to join us for dinner. We arranged to meet at 7:00, so I had to snack to avoid getting hungry before dinner. We met at the new chinese restaurant near our house, so Cortney, Sean and I walked over to meet our friends. I ended up ordering a chicken curry dish. The server asked if I wanted it spicy, and I said yes. The dish was very tasty, and also very spicy. My face was sweating after I finished. The cool walk home felt good after that.

I worked late last night and most of this morning creating the look of my new day journal website. While I really like the radio userland interface, the radio userland tool only provided two “themes” for the look of the web page. While the themes are well designed graphically, I wanted to have my own distinctive look and feel. I could have used the design for my blogger web page, and currently used on my home page, but I wanted to start with a fresh look. I wanted to go with a lighter and easier to read design, the result of which is what you see here. Let me know what you think. You can click on this link to send a response.
