February 23, 2002 on 10:40 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean had fun playing with his new basketball set. The current height is set at 3 feet, and it literally is a slam dunk for him. This basketball set goes up to 6 feet in height, so after he gets comfortable actually throwing the ball, I will raise the basket for Sean. Sean still doesn’t feel comfortable with his new tricycle.

February 23, 2002 on 4:50 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe had a great party to celebrate Sean’s birthday today. We held the party at a nearby park with a nice set of playground equipment. I dropped Cortney off early to make sure we could use the pavilion at the park. The morning started off bright and sunny, and just as I thought it might get to warm, we had some light clouds to keep the temperature reasonable.
Sean had lots of fun on the playground. I think he enjoyed the swings the most, but he also got a big kick out of Daddy acting goofy on the playground. He was also brave enough to go down the tallest slide on the playground, all by himself. Even after spending hours on the equipment, I still had to carry him off when it was time to go home.
I think all of our guests had a good time. We had enough food and drink, and everyone else enjoyed the weather and playground as well. After coming home, it was nice not to have to clean up.

February 23, 2002 on 4:50 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean woke up this morning with a terrible case of bed head. I couldn’t stand the thought of having pictures taken of Sean looking like that, so I had his hair cut before his birthday party.

February 22, 2002 on 7:01 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean didn’t get much out of his birthday presents that I put together last night. He got a tricycle as well as a basketball set. Part of the problem is that Sean still isn’t over his stomach illness, so he was very fussy this evening. I’m sure he will enjoy these presents in the future, as well as the other gifts he got today.

February 22, 2002 on 6:59 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean had some great weather for his birthday. Bright and sunny, with highs in the low 80’s. Sean and I went to the park wearing shorts. We played some basketball together as well as playing on the playground.

February 22, 2002 on 6:57 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean is two years old today! He’s made a lot of progress in the last year. I remember on his one year birthday how he played with the frosting on his birthday cake, never bothering to try eating it. This year, he actually ate his cake!

February 21, 2002 on 8:37 pm | In Main | No CommentsTD Waterhouse, where I do my banking, has a new on-line bill payment service. The web interface is greatly improved. I’ll find out in a week or two how reliable the payments are. They offer electronic billing, and I signed up for this service for the credit card, electric bill, and cable bill. The big advantage of this feature is that I can make the bill payment with just a click or two.

February 21, 2002 on 8:28 pm | In Main | No CommentsI spent a good part of the evening putting together Sean’s birthday presents. I’m annoyed at how much work you have to put into the assembly, just so the manufacturer can put the item in a smaller box. I report tomorrow on how Sean likes his presents.

February 20, 2002 on 8:51 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean was a handfull today. I don’t think he is over his stomach illness, and even if he is, we still have him on a restricted diet. He has started to throw things in frustration. He calmed down after his evening milk, and we spent some quality time together reading and playing.

February 19, 2002 on 9:09 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean had a relapse of illness from Saturday. He got sick right after he started eating his dinner. He had a nasty case of diarrhea just before bed. None of this seemed to slow him down much; he still had energy to play.

February 18, 2002 on 8:02 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe took Sean to the park today, even though it was a little on the cool side (at least compared to the weather we had been having). He was fascinated with the large sprinklers watering the field near the park. He was more interested in the sprinklers than the playground equipment.

February 18, 2002 on 8:00 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean seems to be fully over his stomach illness of Saturday. We were worried he picked up some type of germ from the zoo. It turns out that several kids in the MOMS club also have the same thing, so it must just be a bug going around. Some of the other kids had it much worse. Sean only threw up once, and had one case of diarrhea. One of the kids continued to throw up for two days.
