February 17, 2002 on 8:51 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean was doing much better today, even though he still is not 100%. He had a waffle for breakfast, applesauce for lunch, and pretzels for dinner, with crackers to snack on throughout the day. We did give him his evening milk, which he quickly polished off. Sean will be back to his normal diet tomorrow.

February 17, 2002 on 8:47 pm | In Movie Reviews | No CommentsNo movie last night. We were going to watch Fight Club, which we own a copy on DVD, but we decided not to watch the movie. Since this movie is in our collecton, I rate it an A.
But it.

February 16, 2002 on 9:35 pm | In Main | No CommentsThe second half of the day wasn’t so good for Sean. He took a long nap, sleeping longer than usual. When I went in to check on him, he got up briefly, then layed back down, even though he was wide awake. He usually can’t stand staying in his crib. I after I got him out of the crib and took him downstairs, he immediately went to the couch to lie down. Usually, he is bouncing off the walls after his nap. We didn’t figure out what was wrong with Sean until after I had prepared his dinner. As I called him to the dinner table, Sean ran into the bedroom, and proceeded to toss his lunch up all over the carpet. After we gave him a bath and cleaned up the mess, he seemed to recover a bit. He had a diet of crackers and water for the rest of the evening. I’m hoping he will make it through the night without any problems.

February 16, 2002 on 9:30 pm | In Main | No CommentsToday was a mixed day for Sean. We started off the day with a trip to the zoo. Sean seemed to be more interested in the pidgeons than some of the zoo exhibits. He had a cute moment at one of the play areas at the zoo. This particular play area had a couple of bridges over a small creek. One bridge was covered, too short for an adult to walk through. The other was a planked bridge supsended by rope. I guided Sean by holding his hand across this bridge. After getting to the other side, I let go, and walked away. I guess the ground was too uneven, and Sean stayed at the platform at the end of the bridge. I little girl, about Sean’s size, went over and offered her hand to help Sean out. Sean took her hand, and she guided Sean away from the bridge area. I was a little surprised to see him do that. We thanked the little girl for her help.
Pitch Black
February 16, 2002 on 6:32 pm | In Movie Reviews | No CommentsLast night’s move was Pitch Black. I was surprised to see Cortney rent a science fiction film, but she rented it to see Vin Diesel. As science fiction movies go, this one had fairly decent acting. Unfortunately, I thought the script was unimaginative and dull. I rate this movie a C-.
Buy it.

February 15, 2002 on 11:07 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean has learned to climb the ladder on the playground with confidence. We had a late start going to the park this afternoon. Cortney and I were hungry, so we didn’t stay long. Sean had other thoughts, and he wasn’t too happy to leave the playground. I had to carry him away, since he didn’t want to walk away on his own.

February 14, 2002 on 9:22 pm | In Main | No CommentsHappy Valentine’s Day! Cortney suprised me by placing a card and candy hearts in my car last night so that I found them when I got in the car to drive to work this morning. Sean is too young to get any valentines, but he went to a birthday party today.

February 13, 2002 on 7:52 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean almost climbed up the ladder on his own at the playground near our house. He was close to climbing on his own several times. He would reach for my hand, more for the confidence then to actually help him climb. The one time he didn’t reach for my hand he almost made it, but started to slip so I grabbed him before he fell.

February 12, 2002 on 7:50 pm | In Main | No CommentsThis link is an interesting story about the problems of air travel after September 11th. I think our “security” measures are now counter-productive. We are now killing more people by forcing them to drive distances covered by the shorter flights than we are saving by improving flight safety.

February 12, 2002 on 7:47 pm | In Main | No CommentsAt dinner time, I was asking Sean to point to all of the foods he was eating. He’s very good at this, and knows all of the foods we typically feed him. After he wolfed down the last three pieces of chicken. I asked him where his chicken was. He looked down at his plate, hesitated, and then pointed to his mouth.

February 11, 2002 on 7:51 pm | In Main | No CommentsCortney had both a Mom’s night out and a softball game, so I watched Sean the entire evening. It was a pleasant day out, so we started with some time at the park. We had a nice dinner together, and I shared some of my pasta with Sean. After dinner, Sean started getting into trouble. He knows how to open all of the doors, so it’s hard to keep him from pulling items out of the pantry or from splashing the cat’s water in the utility room. After he had his evening milk, Sean calmed down, and I was able to read some stories to Sean before he went to bed.
