October 29, 2002 on 8:14 pm | In Main |It looks like the D.C. sniper is being brought up on federal charges. I hope my fellow citizens join me in renouncing this idea. The sniper should be held accountable for the murders he committed, and in my opinion, nothing more. This means he should be tried in a state court. The idea of charging him with something like “extortion interfering with interstate commerce” is just plain stupid. Without rigging either the judge or jury, the sniper could easily be pronounced not guilty of this crime.
