October 31, 2002 on 8:03 pm | In Main |I’ve critized Michael Powell in the past for his strengthening of the monopoly power of telephone and cable companies, but it looks like he has the right idea when it comes to radio spectrum. I think the telephone and cable networks could be obsolete within five years. A cheap electronic receiver/transmitter should be capable of handling all communications needs for households, with very little infrastructure required. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the wireless revolution to take hold.
