Please go to my new website: www.bdwn.com. Same great look, same great content, just a new location.

The actual www.bdwn.com URL may take a day or two to work, and the website itself won’t be published until later today.

This is my last post to this website. Later today, I will be setting up the new website. Ethan had his first home bath this morning (click to enlarge).

As you can see, he doesn’t care much for the bath. Despite the fact that Ethan’s skin is red because he is upset, you can see that he now has a healthy skin color.

Sean, Ethan, Corky and I went to the park this evening. It was a nice cool evening. Sean ran around the playground, and Ethan slept in the stroller. Sean impressed me by holding onto the monkey bars for a count of ten. I was less than impressed when Sean went down the slide with the big water puddle at the bottom. He managed to soak his shorts, so that when he fell down in the sand, he created a big mess. I used the baby’s changing pad for Sean to sit on, so that he wouldn’t get our new Italian double stroller dirty. I figured it was easier to wash the changing pad than the stroller pad. Cortney had planned to give Sean a bath anyways, so it worked out in the end.

I am now the proud owner of a .com domain. I am going to move this website to the new domain, possibly this weekend. I will provide more details when I have the new site set up.

Ethan is one week old today. He celebrated this occasion by dropping off the rest of his umbilical cord. Ethan was awake for a good part of the afternoon, and we let him play on Sean’s old activity mat. Ethan spent time on both his stomach and back.

This morning, while taking Sean and Ethan out for a stroller ride, I heard Sean count to ten, in French, all on his own. Sean also had his speech therapy session today. One of the things he learned was “Oh Man”, which the therapist uses a lot. Sean cracked up everytime she said this. Sean is definitely starting to speak with more clarity.

I watched Sean this morning so that Corky could work on running some cable lines upstairs. The guest bedroom did not have a cable outlet, and I also wanted a line run into the office. The office originally had one, but that was changed over to the broadband connection. Corky successfully hooked up the guest bedroom, and started work on the office line.

We are getting a decent rainstorm this evening. It rained briefly last night, but nothing like it is now. The surpising think is that is was a nice sunny day today. The rain is supposed to bring in some cooler weather in the next few days. I’m looking forward to it. I hope to take Sean hiking as soon as Cortney is able to take care of Ethan by herself.

I took a long nap this afternoon, along with Ethan and the two cats. To make sure Cortney recovers well, I have been letting her sleep through the night, which means I have to get up and take care of the baby. This didn’t seem to be much of a problem the night before, when I was so tired, I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed. Last night, I had to get up just often enough that I didn’t get a good night’s sleep. I think I will be fine, just as soon as I can establish a regular schedule.

Ethan went for his first visit to the doctor’s office today. I was a little frustrated with this, since he was seen by the doctor in the hospital just this Tuesday afternoon. When we had Sean, Cortney and I were excited at every opportunity to take the baby in to see if everything was going okay. But with the second child, we know he is healthy, so it seems more of an inconvenience to make frequent trips to the doctor. Ethan now weighs 6 lbs, 15 oz. His weight was down as far as 6 lbs 11 oz in the hospital, which is perfectly normal. Ethan’s jaundice color is now completely gone, and he tolerated the poking and prodding fairly well. He goes back to the office on Monday to see if he has his normal birth weight.

One of the tasks for today was to fix the display on Cortney’s computer. Her monitor was displaying gray streaks across the screen, and fine text was very difficult to read. I had suspected the monitor, but I swapped monitors last night and the problem remained. So, Ethan, Sean, Corky and I all went to Fry’s Electronics to pick up a new video card. I decided to go with the ATI line, as they are known for better 2D dislay quality. I bought the Radeon 7500 model, which was a little pricier than I had intended. It didn’t take me long to install the card and the software, and now Cortney’s computer looks good again.

Sean said his first spontaneous sentence today. He said “I see a bus”.

I discovered my posting problem. My website is full! I deleted a few files, so I have room to post some more, but it will only be a matter of time before I run out of room again.
