I took Sean and Ethan to the park by myself this evening. I carried Ethan on my chest in the baby sling, and pushed Sean over in the stroller. It certainly was a nice evening for the park; a little too cool for shorts, but just right for jeans and a t-shirt. I was nervous about watching Sean while carrying Ethan, but it turned out that I could move around enough to keep up with Sean. When we arrived, three other children were at the playground around Sean’s age, so Sean had someone to play with. Sean normally likes to follow other kids around the playground, but this evening, one of the three kids, a little girl, was following Sean around, playing follow-the-leader. Sean loved it. One of the mothers recognized Sean, and she guessed that I was Cortney’s husband, so I was able to have some adult conversation. We stayed even after the other kids had left the park, and I did the best I could on my own to play follow-the-leader with Sean, since I had Ethan strapped to my chest. Ethan and I even went down the slides a few times. Ethan decided he should just sleep through all of this activity. On the way home, Sean decided he didn’t want to ride in the stroller. He was very well behaved, stopping when I asked him to, so I let Sean walk home. After his trip to Jeepers this morning, and with the activity at the park, Sean should get a good night’s sleep tonight.
