I tried to feed Ethan the rice cereal again this evening, and again, without any success. He pushes the food out of his mouth with his tongue, which is a clear indication he is not ready for solid food yet. I may still try putting some cereal in his formula bottle. My real motive is to have Ethan sleep through the night. Even though Ethan typically only wakes up once per evening, it’s still an inconveniance.

Sean was restless this evening. He suffered from the doubly whammy of it being too wet outside to play, and Cortney and I being too sick to take him to any of the indoor play areas.

I see the House of Representitives passed a ban on cloning. Funny, I don’t recall any powers for the legislative branch of government concerning cloning or reproduction in the consitution.

The local paper ran a “Dog Bites Man” story about the bad virus season this year. Of course, we knew that without having to read the newspaper. It seems like I have been sick at least once a month, and Sean seems like he is continually sick.

Sean and Ethan are doing fine, but now Cortney and I are sick. I feel better than I did yesterday, so I hope I am over this illness in time for Sean’s birthday this Saturday.

More rain again today. The sun came out a few times today, but the high temperature barely broke 60 degrees. We had much nicer weather in January.

Sean must not be getting enough sleep. He fell asleep at school today! He was probably tired from a morning trip to Jeepers. We put him to bed early this evening.

I wasn’t feeling well today, so I came home from work early. I have a mild fever and aching joints, which is probably the same thing that Sean had.

Sean did much better this evening. We received a package from Amazon tonight, which include a DVD containing “There goes an airplane”, “There goes a train”, and “There goes a bus”, and so Sean had to watch it. For exercise, Cortney took Sean to the ball pit at Burger King. He went to bed without any trouble at all.

We had rain today. For a brief while, we had quite a downpour, which is unusual for the desert. We also had some thunder and lightning.I was glad to see the rain, as it means I don’t have to water the plants that were planted this past weekend. It was also cooler today. In fact, it was warmer when I drove into work this morning at 7:00 than it was when I drove home in the afternoon.

Floppy went in for her weekly fluid injection today. The last couple of times, she had dropped some weight, but today, she was 8 pounds 1 oz, which is the highest weight she had been since we found out about her kidney problem. This is a promising sign that she has longer to live.

Sean seemed like he had plenty of energy today. So, I took him to the park after I came home from work. Sean had fun at the playground, but I was unprepared for what happened next. Sean willingly started the walk home, but about halfway there, he didn’t want to hold my hand, or even walk on his own. I had to carry him the rest of the way kicking and screaming. At this point, I could tell he wasn’t feeling well, since he was coughing quite a bit, and I could tell he had some chest congestion. Sean didn’t even want to eat, and fell asleep on the sofa. I hope his illness and brief nap do not prevent Sean from getting a good night’s sleep.

Both Sean and Ethan had an off day. Sean is still getting over some type of virus, and Ethan is teething. That doesn’t make for a fun combination. At least they both took long naps this afternoon.

I mangaged to get some planting done today. With the mild winter that we’ve had, I don’t think there is any danger of frost, so no is a good time to plant. In the front yard, I planted three bush morning glory plants, replacing the plants that had died. In the back yard, I planted two african daisy plants, plus one more plant whose name slips my mind. Doing the planting was easy; the hard part was fixing the drip irrigation system. At least this time, I didn’t spade the main line. It will be nice to have some more color in the yard, but it also means that I will be spending more time watering and other garden chores.

I thought I had a problem with my TV tuner card, but it turns out to be just user error. The sound wasn’t working, and I couldn’t figure out why. I reinstalled the drivers twice, and that didn’t fix it. It turns out the problem was that the sound output of the tuner card was going to the wrong input for the sound card. If I would have checked that first, I could have saved myself a couple of hours fooling around with the drivers.
