June 21, 2003 on 10:15 pm | In Main | No CommentsEveryone, including Cortney, took a nice long nap this afternoon. I took advantage of the time to do some reading. With the books I received for my birthday, I’m behind in my reading.

June 21, 2003 on 10:14 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan successfully used a restaurant high chair today. We ended up going to McDonalds. We wanted to go some place where Sean could get some exercise. Don’t worry though, we bring our own food for Sean. Other than a few fries, we don’t let him eat junk food. Ethan seemed to have a good time. We did make the mistake of leaving the food try to close to Ethan. Ethan put his hand right into one of the ketchup paper cups, coating his hand with ketchup.

June 20, 2003 on 8:07 pm | In Main | No CommentsToday was a bit of a bust. We had plans for the family to go to Burger King this evening. Sean was going to play in the ball pit, and Ethan was going to use a restaurant high chair for the first time. Only Ethan and Sean didn’t cooperate. Neither took their normal afternoon naps. Ethan in particular was tired and cranky, so we decided not to go. I hope Ethan does all right tonight; he seemed to do better after his evening meal.

June 19, 2003 on 8:04 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean and I had just a brief swim this evening. The high temperature was 105 degrees, but it was so dry, it seemed like it was too cold to be in the pool. After awhile, I told Sean I had to get out and warm up. I intended to stay huddled up under a towel, and keep an eye on Sean in the pool. After seeing me wrap the towel around myself and sitting down, Sean wanted to be like his daddy and do the same thing. So, Sean sat down with a towel wrapped around him, until I decided it was time to go inside.

June 18, 2003 on 8:06 pm | In Main | No CommentsEvery day, I have been checking my journal for what I wrote one year and two year’s ago. I’ve noticed a couple of things, one good and one bad. The good part is that I wrote with enough detail to bring back vivid memories of what went on one year and two years ago. The bad part is that I haven’t writing as much lately. I hope to change that.

June 18, 2003 on 8:03 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan has an interesting method of crawling. He pulls with both arms, but he only pushes with his right leg. He almost looks like a crab when he crawls. At least it gets him where he wants to go.

June 17, 2003 on 8:14 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean learned a new trick in the pool this evening. He went down his little slide holding onto the pool noodle. After plunging into the water, Sean was able to float back to the surface, where he could paddle to the pool stairs by himself, only to repeat the process.

June 16, 2003 on 8:46 pm | In Main | No CommentsCortney said to me that Ethan should start holding the bottle and nine months. That’s still a month away, but I have noticed that he is trying to hold the bottle. Tonight, he was fairly successful. Not only did he hold the bottle himself, but he fell asleep doing it!

June 16, 2003 on 8:45 pm | In Main | No CommentsSean and I had fun in the pool tonight. For some reason, he wanted me to do a handstand while he jumped in the pool from the side. That forces me to quickly swim to where he is at to lift his head out of the water so he can breath. I was a bit nervous about this, but Sean insisted, so I went ahead and let him do it anyway.

June 15, 2003 on 8:02 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan is starting to crawl around more. He is now moving almost a couple of yards at a time. He isn’t quite getting up on his knees; he almost seems to use his arms more to pull than using his legs to push.

The Matrix Reloaded
June 15, 2003 on 7:52 pm | In Movie Reviews | No CommentsLast night, we actually went out to the movie theatre. We went to see the The Matrix Reloaded. This movie had me sitting on the edge of my seat with some great action scenes. I thought the special effects weren’t quite as good in the first movie, but the second movie had more of a story line about the actual Matrix, requiring only a slight supsension of disbelief. I was extremly disappointed with the movie ending with a “to be continued”, which tainted my overall impression of the movie. I rate The Matrix Reloaded a B-.
Buy it.
Old School
June 15, 2003 on 7:44 pm | In Movie Reviews | No CommentsThe Friday night movie was Old School. This movie is really just a different take on Animal House. I actually broke out in laughter several times during this movie. Cortney wasn’t laughing though, so this movie isn’t for everyone. The ending in particular was poor. I rate this movie a C+.
Buy it.

June 14, 2003 on 10:11 pm | In Main | No CommentsCortney, Sean and I had a nice swim in the pool this afternoon. The water was still fairly warm, even though we have had three days of only double-digit highs. Sean even had fun using the pool float, which he avoided last year.
