June 12, 2003 on 6:23 pm | In Main | No CommentsToday was my birthday. Cortney and I celebrated by going out to dinner, just the two of us. Afterwards, we had ice cream cake and opened presents. Perhaps the best present of all was hearing Sean say “Happy Birthday, Daddy”. Sean was real excited when I told him I was opening presents. I guess he was thinking he would get a present.

June 11, 2003 on 8:00 pm | In Main | No CommentsI took my car in for an oil service this morning, but they found some leaks that needed fixing, so I left the car for the day. In the rental car, they had XM radio. I was impressed with the station choices. If I were to spend more time in my car, I would seriously consider gettng XM radio. Other than the cost, the only downside I see is that it doesn’t work under a covered area, such as an overpass.

June 10, 2003 on 7:54 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan is still picky about what he will eat. Bananas and cereal are the only foods he eats regularly. Occasionally we can squeeze in a jar of squash or sweet potato. But, he appears to be gaining weight without any problem. He is starting to get some chunky baby legs.

June 10, 2003 on 7:50 pm | In Main | No CommentsToday was one of the few days recently where we haven’t used the pool. It was a bit cooler, with a high of only 101 degrees, and there was a nice breeze, so we would have been cold getting out of the pool.

June 9, 2003 on 8:07 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe had a nice family outing in the pool this evening. The water temperature was a pleasant 85 degrees, but it seemed like the air temperature was chilly with the dry air and slight breeze. Sean enjoyed playing with a tube float. This is a first for him, since he doesn’t usually like floats.

June 8, 2003 on 7:25 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan did not sleep well last night, and I had to make several trips upstairs in the middle of the night to check on him. I didn’t get much sleep last night, so I took it easy today.
Die Another Day
June 8, 2003 on 7:23 pm | In Movie Reviews | No CommentsThe only movie this weekend was Die Another Day. This was one of the better James Bond movies, and certainly better than any of the recent movies. The movie was packed full of action, so I certainly enjoyed it. My only complaint was the plot was a bit over the top with a death satellite. I don’t see how a rogue North Korean would manage to get a satellite launched into space, and the movie never bothered to explain it. I rate this movie a B.
But it.

June 7, 2003 on 10:23 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan was cranky today. I guess he has a cold, and it’s bothering him. It was tough to figure out what he wanted in the morning. At one point, he wasn’t interested in either his solid food or his forumal. He took a nice long nap, and managed to eat well after that. I hope he’s better tomorrow.

June 7, 2003 on 10:21 pm | In Main | No CommentsI spent the morning doing yardwork. I removed three bags of leaves and debris from the pool and playground area. That was a fair amount of work, and it felt good to cool off in the pool afterwards.

June 6, 2003 on 9:52 pm | In Main | No CommentsCortney’s parents flew into town today. We put them to baby sitting right away. Cortney and I went out to dinner with friends this evening. We had a good time.

June 5, 2003 on 8:06 pm | In Main | No CommentsThe battery to the minivan died today, so Cortney was stuck in the house all day long. Well not all day; Cortney walked over to the grocery store where they had a tour planned. Sean and Ethan both got gifts from the store as part of the tour. We’re lucky to have the grocery store within walking distance. Fixing the dead battery turned out to be easy. I jump-started the minivan, than Cortney drove to the nearby auto parts store. We bought the battery from them previously, and it was still under warranty. They even changed the battery for Cortney.
