Today was Sean’s big day. He rode the school bus all by himself. He arrived home smiling so everything must have gone okay. He was certainly fully of energy this afternoon and evening.

This evening, we went back to Sean’s school, this time for open house. Unfortunately, Sean was taking a nap right up until the time we left. We put him in the car while he was still asleep. He was groggy the whole time we where at the school. Ethan had fun though. He enjoyed playing in Sean’s classroom, where all the toys were out from the students visiting. Ethan even met Sean’s teacher and all the assistants. They all thought the Ethan was cute.

I had to watch Sean and Ethan this morning while Cortney went to the dentist. Sean was really cute this morning. He put on his shoes, thinking he could ride the school bus as long as he had his shoes on. Cortney tells me that this is the first time he has put his shoes on by himself. Sean only has to wait until tomorrow to ride the school bus for real.

The gas stations are still running out of gas mid-day. The line at the local station wasn’t too bad this morning, but was long this evening after the tanker truck pulled up.

Sean went onto a school bus twice today. The first time was this morning. The bus driver that will be picking up Sean in the morning was making a practice run. Cortney saw the bus, and took Sean outside. The driver let Sean get on the bus and sit down. This evening, they had a program at Sean’s school for new bus riders. They had a short question and answer session with one of the bus drivers, followed up by a ride on the school bus. Sean and Cortney rode up near the front, and Ethan and I rode towards the back. Sean seemed to be comfortable on the bus, so hopefully we won’t have any problems Thursday morning.

Sean went to a Birthday party today. Lately, he has been real excited about birthdays. He keeps asking if it is Mommy’s or Daddy’s birthday. As a bonus, there was a pool at the birthday party, and Sean was able to go swimming. It’s a good thing, since I worked late today, and didn’t have time to go in on my own.

The gasoline situation here in Phoenix is crazy. A shutdown of a nearby gas pipeline has created problems with distribution. People are panic buying, creating long lines at gas stations. The local gas station had a line backing up onto the freeway this morning. When I drove by again this afternoon, the gas station had run out. When Cortney went out, a tanker was filling up the station, and people were already waiting in line. The worst thing about this is that I will need to get gas by the end of the week.

Cortney did some more shopping today, so I had the chance to spend more time with Sean and Ethan. Sean strayed into some bad behavior occasionally, but was otherwise well behaved. Ethan was a little cranky today. He is slightly congested, but I think he is having trouble sleeping during his naps. At least he went to bed without any problem.

I fixed the pool light this morning. This was after changing the GFCI outlet last weekend, and changing the light bulb on Wednesday. I wish I new what I did to fix the light. My plan was to troubleshoot using the idiot light to find the broken component. It didn’t take me long to find that the GFCI outlet wasn’t working. So I pulled it out of the box, leaving the wires connected. After resetting the circuit, the GFCI was working, and the pool light was on. I had tried this numerous times before, without any effect. Well, at least the light is working now. It’s a shame it’s too late for Cortney’s party.

Not much happened today. Cortney went shopping at Goodwill all morning, leaving me at home to watch Sean and Ethan. Sean was on good behavior today, so I had an easy time with it. Sean and I had a nice swim in the pool this evening. The pool water has cooled off a bit, so it was more refreshing than usual.

We had a nice cool day today. Last night’s storm really cooled things off. Other than some debris in the pool, we had no damage to the yard, and the remaining trees were still standing. As with most Friday’s, we went to Burger King to let Sean play in the ball pit. This evening, a family brought their five week old son. Cortney just had to chat with the mom. I watched Sean play, and fed Ethan when it was time for his dinner. After we arrived home, Sean was fussy and tired, so we put him to bed early.

Cortney is having her MOMS party as I write this. They were chased indoors because of a thunderstorm. I hope they don’t wake the kids up. Poor Sean. He was really upset that he couldn’t go outside to the pool where everyone else was. I’ll let Cortney decide if her party was a success.

I had Sean in the pool with me while I worked on the pool light. Cortney is throwing a pool party for her MOMS club tomorrow night, and she wants the pool light working. I put Sean in his body suit with the floats built in so I wouldn’t have to keep a constant eye on him. I was able to change the bulb in the pool light, but unfortunately it still doesn’t work. I’m at a loss for what to do next. I wanted to spend some time playing with Sean in the pool, but we had to get out because of an approaching thunderstorm.
