November 25, 2003 on 8:45 pm | In Main |Ethan is starting to understand verbal communication. Laura has taught Ethan “no mouth”, to not put objects in his mouth. Tonight at the library, Ethan understood “no touch” to leave the library books alone. It was nice to be able to follow Ethan around the library and not have to grab him every time he came near the bookshelves. Ethan also responded to “turn around”, when he wandered off too far.
Speaking of the library, we made it to story time for the first time in a while. It’s a good thing too, as this is the last story night until early next year. Now that Ethan is able to get around on his own, he was less willing to sit through the stories. He still enjoys most of the finger plays. Sean had a good time at the older story time as well. I guess Cortney and I are now going to have to do more songs and stories at home for the next month and a half.
