Cortney and I went to the insight.com bowl tonight, featuring Virginia Tech against California. I dressed up in Virginia Tech colors, and since I ordered tickets through the school, we sat in the Virginia Tech side of the stadium. Even though our team lost, we got our money’s worth. After Cal scored first, Tech scored 21 unanswered points. Then Tech’s defense started deteriorating, and they found themselves down by 14 points in the 4th quarter. Tech scored again, then the defense finally stopped Cal, and returned the ensuing punt for a touchdown, tying the game with little time left. Unfortunately, Cal scored a field goal as time ran out, with the final score 52 to 49. Even though Tech missed 3 easy field goals and missed out on some obvious pass interference calls, which would have made the difference in the game, it’s hard to complain about losing when you give up 52 points.
