Sean’s Parent Teacher Conference
January 27, 2004 on 8:14 pm | In Main |We had a parent-teacher conference to discuss Sean’s IEP today. We met with Sean’s teacher and his speech therapist. Apparently Sean has made significant progress in the last month or two. We closed out all but one of his prior objectives, since he has mastered the other items. Ironically, Sean is well ahead of where he needs to be academically, and he is ready for Kindergarten in this area. Sean has new objectives for speech and occupational therapy. The teacher and speech therapist said we should have no problem having Sean ready for kindergarten in these areas for the next year. Sean will continue to get one-on-one time with both the speech and occupational therapists. The other interesting thing was that Sean has no behavioral problems at school; not even the things he commonly does at home. I suppose the good news is that Sean recognizes the seriousness of school, and will be a successful student. Now Cortney and I just need to figure out why he behaves at school, and have him behave the same way at home.
