A Hummingbird

June 29, 2004 on 8:15 pm | In Main |

After Sean, Ethan and I arrived home from the library, there was a hummingbird hovering in the front yard, above the hedge in front of the sidewalk. After we pulled into the garage and poured out of the minivan, I told Sean and Ethan to be quiet, and to walk over so they could see the bird. Sean and Ethan were able to get within about three feet or so from the hummingbird, so they were able to get a good look. I thought for sure that the bird would fly off as the kids got near, but he stayed put. After awhile, I told Sean and Ethan that it was time to go inside and leave the bird alone. Both Sean and Ethan said “bye-bye, bird”.
