Sean’s Back in the Pool

Sean checked out okay with the doctor today, and he has new earplugs. I took Sean and Ethan into the pool this evening, the first time they have been in for over two weeks. I was late getting home from class, so we didn’t have much time to spend in the pool before it was bedtime for the kids. Sean hasn’t missed a beat as far as swimming ability. Both kids enjoyed the swim.

Library Night

I took Sean and Ethan to the library. I’m glad we went. The library is stopping story time until after school starts. Sean was very well behaved — before, during and after the story time. Ethan on the other hand, seems to be stressing his independence, rather that sitting and enjoying the songs and stories. Ethan did sit nicely for the short movie at the end of the regular story time.

Sean Does Well at Gym Class

Sean did well at gym class this evening. He usually does well on the trampoline, but he also did well on the bars and rings. Sean is not eligible for the next level until he turns six, so I wonder how we can keep him interested in gymnastics until then.

Big Yardwork Day

Once a month, timed with the loose trash pick-up, I do major trimming of the yard. Today was such a day. A big branch broke off the palo verde tree. I didn’t think it was that big until I started cutting it up and transporting it to the street. That was the heavest work, but all of the other trimming took most of the morning. It was hot, but fairly dry, so it didn’t seem to uncomfortable, but I could certainly tell it was hot by the end of the morning. I finished up by cleaning the pool, which was a fair amount of work, but cool and refreshing.

We had hamburgers cooked on the grill for dinner. Ethan actually ate about a fourth of a burger, assisted with some ketchup. Ethan is pretty good about trying new foods. Sean, well, at least he eats a full meal.
