The New Computer

I assembled the parts for the new computer last night, but I have yet to turn it on. Here’s what I’m building:

  • Antec Sonata Case
  • AMD 64 Athlon 3700+ (San Diego core)
  • DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D motherboard
  • Sapphire X800XL 256MB video card
  • 2X1G Corsair XMS PC3200 memory
  • Seagate 250Gb SATA hard drive
  • Plextor PX740A Dual-layer DVD RW drive
  • Lite On DVD ROM drive

This new computer should have plenty of horsepower.

I don’t know how far I will get with this tonight. It was a long day at work, with a class at the company training center near the airport. I had bad traffic on the way home, taking me nearly an hour to get home. To relax, I cleaned out the pool filter cartridge. I would rather do this than work on the new computer, particularly if I run into any problems.

Cortney reports from Florida that Sean and Ethan are getting plenty of exercise, mostly in the pool. They have been worn out nearly everyday they have been there. I like hearing news like this. My fear was that Sean and Ethan would be out of control, needing their father to help discipline them. Now Cortney and her parents just need to keep this routine going another few weeks.
