Nice Shoes

The library had a special event this evening. Two students from a local classical musical school presented sleeping beauty, with one student reading and the other playing the violin. They were both nicely dressed, as you would expect for someone giving a performance. Sean seemed to enjoy the story and the music, while Ethan was his normal restless self.

Midway through the story, Sean noticed the student reading the story, male, was wearing well-polished patent leather shoes. Sean commented “Nice shoes!”, loud enough the the reader had to comment, “Yes, Thank you”. All of the parents were laughing, the violinist was laughing, and the kids started laughing when they saw the adults laughing. I was amused at how a perfectly appropriate comment from Sean happened to be so funny in this situation.

Gym Class

After a two month break, Sean started gym class again. I took Ethan with me as well, since Cortney was waiting for the minivan to get fixed. Sean had a new teacher, but the gym owner helped her out, so Sean was able to get some good instruction. Sean hasn’t lost much in the last two months, so he should have no problem continuing. Ethan was a little restless, but otherwise he behaved well, so it was enjoyable for me to spend time with Sean and Ethan.
