An Uneventful Day
January 3, 2006 on 7:59 pm | In Main | No CommentsWork was uneventful, which I guess is a good thing after two weeks off.
Sean is out of school all week for winter break. Ethan will resume his normal preschool week starting tomorrow.
This evening, we went to story time at the library. We arrived early, and Sean and Ethan both had too much energy to be indoors. But they both settled down by the time story time actually started. I checked out some books from the adult section for Sean and Ethan, on model railroading. Ethan in particular just loves looking at toy train catalogs, and I figure he should enjoy the books.
End of the Winter Vacation
January 2, 2006 on 7:41 pm | In Main | No CommentsVacation time is over. Time to get back to the normal work/school week.
We did not do much today. I took Sean and Ethan for a trip to the park. Sean rode his scooter, I took a basketball, and Ethan was upset he could not bring his scooter. It would have taken all day for Ethan just to get to the park, at the pace he rides his scooter. Sean quickly gave up on his scooter once we were at the park. Sean played a bit of basketball with me, but otherwise, he and Ethan spent the whole time playing in the sand. I have no idea why they prefer the sand over the slides and play equipment.
A Rough Way to Start the New Year
January 1, 2006 on 9:21 pm | In Main | No CommentsHello 2006.
Tired parents and off-the-wall children make a bad mix. Cortney and I, of course, stayed up late last night to ring in the new year. Sean and Ethan weren’t very accommodating this morning, and not only got up early, but were filled with energy as well. Their energy level stayed high all day long. I wanted to take them to the park, but I was just too busy.
The Christmas lights came down today. Our collection is growing, and it took longer than I expected to get everything down and neatly put away. Or, neatly as possible, since we don’t quite have room in the garage for everything. Maybe someday.
I have only one new year’s resolution this year: stay on top of the bills and financial paperwork. I was able to get to a good head start this evening, going through a whole pile of receipts and medical paperwork.
