A Hot Day
March 16, 2007 on 9:08 pm | In Main | No CommentsThe high today was 99 degrees, a record high for the day. It must be that global warming thing. We went out to dinner tonight, mainly to get out of the warm house. We stopped by the mall afterwards, for more cool air. I watched Sean and Ethan while Cortney shopped. The kids were a bit of a challenge, but I managed.
Tough Night
March 15, 2007 on 7:47 pm | In Main | No CommentsEthan was tired this evening, and Sean just refused to listen, so it was a tough evening. The good news is that there was no dog class this evening, so Cortney and I were both able to deal with the kids.
The Family Watches Sean in Gym Class
March 14, 2007 on 7:48 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe made Sean’s gym class a family outing. Cortney, Ethan, and I all watched Sean during the class. Afterwards, we all went to McDonald’s for dinner. It was an entertaining way to spend the evening.
Some More Good Weather
March 12, 2007 on 9:02 pm | In Main | No CommentsIt did not hit 90 degrees today, but it came close. Tomorrow should be our first 90 degree day. I like this weather. Just as the house starts warming up, the sun sets, and we get a nice cool breeze through the house.
I spent time with Sean and Ethan on jigsaw puzzles this evening. They had a new Star Wars puzzle that they wanted me to help with. It was challenging for me, mainly because I have trouble matching up the colors.
Proof Scan
March 11, 2007 on 7:39 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsI was going to write about what a nice day it was today, and how much fun we had, but I decided a picture would be better. I finally got around to scanning the proofs from the picture session we had in February.
Great Weather
March 10, 2007 on 10:44 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe had a beautiful day today. I took Sean hiking this morning. I wanted to take Ethan as well, but he apparently woke up in the middle of the night to play, and he was still groggy at 10:00 am. With the weather so nice, there were many people out on the hiking trail. We even saw horses and mountain bikers.
This afternoon, I took the kids out to get their hair cut. Cortney was worried I would cut their hair too short, so she joined us at the list minute. I decided to get my haircut there as well. The place I normally go to recently raised their prices, so at least it did not cost any more. One disadvantage of getting my hair cut at a kid’s place is that they don’t trim eyebrows and cut hair growing out of your ears. Other than that, I was satisfied with the result, and I couldn’t help but play a video game during the hair cut, though.
Fun Night with the Kids
March 9, 2007 on 9:37 pm | In Main | No CommentsI had a fun evening with the kids. We started watching Star Wars V, then took a break for dinner, watched the movie some more, took a break to go to the park, then finished the movie.
Princess Goes Back to School
March 8, 2007 on 9:01 pm | In Main | No CommentsI brought Princess to group class, the first time we have been in a while. I was surprised to see Princess excited about being in class. And, she was rewarded too. At the end of class, she played with another pit bull dog. It was the first time I have seen Princess go all out playing with another dog. I bet she sleeps well tonight.
Warming Up
March 7, 2007 on 8:35 pm | In Main | No CommentsWe had a mix of sun and some dark clouds, but no rain. We had to turn on some fans in the house to keep cool this afternoon.
I took Ethan with us to the gym, to give Cortney a bit of a break. Ethan played his game boy the entire time, so that was easy enough. The problem was that both Sean and Ethan were wound up afterwards. It took some effort, but once they went to bed, they kept quiet until they fell asleep.
Is Spring on the Way
March 6, 2007 on 9:34 pm | In Main | No CommentsThe high today was in the 80’s, and forecast to be warm for the rest of the week. I think Spring is on the way. There are just hints of blooming in the yard, but a week of warm weather should make the difference.
In other news, I took Sean for a make up gym class this evening. It turns out that Sean was the only one in the class. I think the extra attention made a difference for Sean. The instructor pushed Sean to try some things on his own. I was really impressed when Sean swung himself to an inverted hang on the rings.
Ethan was a bit of a demon today. He decided to take the vacuum cleaner apart, and if that wasn’t enough, he cut the dust bag open with a pair of scissors. It brings a tear to my eye to see the dust all over the living room floor, just after the cleaners cleaned it this morning. Or maybe, that tear is from all the dust floating through the house. Cortney wasn’t very happy with this stunt, but hopefully, maybe after a few years, we can look back on this and laugh.
Princess Likes Yard Work
March 4, 2007 on 7:39 pm | In Main | No CommentsI think Princess likes it when I do yard work. I had to trim the rose bushes and the bird of paradise in the back yard. Every time I carried an armful of branches out to the street, she we follow me. It would almost seem she had to keep her eye on me.
Sean and Ethan kept themselves busy playing Lego Star Wars on my computer. That allowed me time to take a nap as well as get the yard work done.
A Fun Day
March 3, 2007 on 8:56 pm | In Main | No CommentsI didn’t relax much today, except for a nap this afternoon, but I still had fun today. I took Sean to a birthday party this afternoon, came home and fixed dinner for myself and the kids, and to the kids to the park. Sean and I had a good time at the birthday party, and we all had fun at the park this evening.
The Weekend
March 2, 2007 on 7:46 pm | In Main | No CommentsWith the business trip, it’s been a long week. I did not post last night because I was tired and went to bed early. This evening, we went out to dinner, stopped by Blockbuster, and picked up a movie for us all to watch.
The movie was “Flushed Away”. Sean said it was scary, but he thinks every movie is scary. Ethan kept fidgeting during the movie, so I put him to bed early. Otherwise, it was a reasonably entertaining movie for both kids and adults.
And I plan to just relax this weekend.
