The New Car
August 12, 2006 on 9:37 pm | In Main, Picture of the Week | No CommentsI can’t think of a better way to describe a big event than with some pictures. (Click on the pictures to see the full-sized image)
The proud owner of a new vehicle:
It’s a new Honda Element. Cortney is playing with the storage bin above the console area.
Lot’s of room in the back seat, and the cup holders double as toy storage.
The rear seats fold up into the sides, leaving a large cargo (or impromptu play) area.
The new car feels at home next to it’s older sister, our Honda Odyssey. The Element is slightly taller than the Odyssey, even though it is narrower and much shorter.
Even though I miss my old car, and haven’t made the adjustment for driving a sports coupe to a small SUV, I am very impressed with the Element. The car has a very smooth ride, reasonable acceleration, and a smooth shifting transmission. The car was surprisingly nimble navigating through heavy mall traffic this evening. I admit it’s beauty takes awhile to grow on you, but at least the car is easy to find in the parking lot.
Disney World Pictures
June 25, 2006 on 8:45 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsHere are some of the better pictures from the Disney World trip:
Sean checks out the fossils in the dinosaur area of the Animal Kingdom park:
Ethan brushes a goat in the petting area of the Animal Kingdom park:
Sean and Ethan on the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (this is my favorite picture):
Sean on the Space Mountain ride:
Swimming in the Pool
June 5, 2006 on 7:27 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsI have talked a lot about the fun we heave been having in the pool, but a picture shows it best:
Sean’s Kindergarten Program
May 20, 2006 on 8:54 am | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsI forgot to mention yesterday that Sean had his kindergarten program. I had to leave work to see it, but it was worth it, particularly since Sean missed the Christmas program due to a stomach virus. The program was good and included singing and a slide show, but I guess a group of kindergartners singing is always cute. Sean seemed to be one of the few kids who understood dancing means more than moving your head and hands.
Here’s a picture of Sean singing (Sean is in the middle, with the light shining on him):
The Thomas Train
May 14, 2006 on 7:04 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsToday’s picture comes from yesterday, when we rode the Thomas train. This picture was done by the people there, so I’m not responsible for washing out the detail on Thomas’ face, but at least it is a cute picture of me and the kids.
Ethan Has Fun on the Swing
May 7, 2006 on 7:40 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsThis picture shows Ethan having fun on the swing in the backyard. Since he can’t swing yet, he goes on his stomach, were he can push off with his feet.
The reason why the ground is yellow, rather than the dull color of the desert landscaping, is from the carpet of flowers/leaves from the Palo Verde tree.
Sean, the Picky Eater
April 30, 2006 on 6:41 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsSean may be a picky eater, but he still has a healthy appetite. This picture shows Sean enjoying a slize of pizza.
Open House
April 23, 2006 on 8:10 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsI couldn’t decide on just one picture for the picture of the week, so I am going with two. The first shows Sean and Ethan on the pony ride (Sean is actually on a mule), and the second shows Sean and Ethan hard at work at my office desk (Sean is playing with a rubix cube).
Happy Easter
April 16, 2006 on 7:21 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsCortney did a good job of getting Sean and Ethan excited about Easter. Despite the fact that they both stayed up an hour later dyeing eggs last night, they both woke up at 5:30 AM this morning, expecting to go on an egg hunt. Sean and Ethan had to settle for opening their easter baskets until the sun hit the yard to dry out the wet grass to start the egg hunt.
The tiredness of the kids did not make for a pleasant easter meal. I prepared a ham and cooked macaroni and cheese, but Sean and Ethan would have none of it. Other than the meal, Sean did alright for the rest of the day, and Ethan was fine until he conked out right after dinner.
And of course, this picture is from the egg hunt. You can see Sean and Ethan are having fun, and you can also see my rose bushes in the background.
Pool Open for Business
April 9, 2006 on 7:06 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsSean saw the some kids swimming in the neighbor’s pool, so he decided to go swimming. The neighbor’s pool gets more sun than ours, but I imagine the water was still cold. Ethan and I never did go in the pool, but Sean jumped in and swam around for a few minutes.
Scott’s Family
March 26, 2006 on 7:52 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsThis week’s picture of the week shows my brother’s family, including the new baby, Glory Ellen:
Sean the Photographer
March 19, 2006 on 6:56 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsThis week’s picture of the week is not necessarily a good photo, but it is interesting because of who took it. Sean apparently grabbed the camera without anyone noticing. The angle looks like he was on the sofa, pointing the camera straight up. What you see is our family room ceiling.
Ethan Visits a Dairy Farm
March 12, 2006 on 7:27 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsThis past week, Cortney took Ethan to visit a dairy farm. I selected this picture as the picture of the week. Apparently, Ethan was not allowed to milk a real cow.
Picture Day
March 4, 2006 on 8:54 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsToday’s big news was taking Sean and Ethan to get haircuts, then getting pictures taken. I am posting the proof sheet as this week’s picture of the week.
Sean, the Spider
February 26, 2006 on 7:36 pm | In Picture of the Week | No CommentsI decided to pick this picture of Sean climbing on a rope “spider web” as this week’s picture of the week.
